Lately, there seems to be a bet whom can get the most actors into a single ensemble. Whether you're David O. Russell, Adam McKay, or, as the outlier, David Leitch. No offense to Russell or McKay but it's a strong bet that Leitch's film Bullet Train will be the most fun. Especially as it's led by strong performers like Brad Pitt and up-and-comer Joey King. But now, another big performer joins this upcoming action thriller. That in the form of Sandra Bullock.
This is Bullock's first project in 3 years, following her last set of performances in 2018 with Ocean's 8 and the Netflix film Bird Box. Details of her role are currently unknown, but it's a guess how big her part is as production commenced back in October in Los Angeles. However, production was temporarily halted in December when a crew member tested positive for COVID-19, though production doesn't seem to be halted. In any case, besides Pitt and King, she will join the likes of Lady Gaga, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Zazie Beetz, Logan Lerman, Bad Bunny, Andrew Koji, Brian Tyree Henry, Masi Oka, Michael Shannon, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Karen Fukuhara.
The project is based on the novel Maria Beetle by author Kōtarō Isaka and follows five assassins who find themselves on a bullet train in Japan and realize that their assignments are related. The film is written by Zak Olkewicz with Leitch also serving as a producer alongside Antoine Fuqua, Kelly McCormick, and Kat Samick. The film is being produced under the banners of Columbia Pictures, 87North Productions, and Fuqua Films. No release date has been confirmed yet. Stay tuned!
