The video game adaptation seems to possess an unreachable level of accomplishment. For nearly 30 years, no film adaptation of a video game has been well-received although some of gained box office success. A major complaint by fans of the original games is that the movies never really capture the games. Director/writer Paul W.S. Anderson has been accused of this more than anyone as he did six Resident Evil movies...and none of them had anything to do with the storylines or characters (Except in name) of the hit horror games they were based on.
Seems Anderson is trying to fix that with his next video game adaptation Monster Hunter. Or, at least, the new behind-the-scenes featurette seems to imply this as it compares the monster designs from the game to that of the upcoming movie to show how faithful the film designs will be to the game. Check them out below:
Monster Hunter stars Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, Tip "T. I." Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung, and Ron Perlman. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 30, 2020.
Won't even download this garbage.
