The DC Animated Universe has a lot more fun with it's stories than the DC Extended Universe ever could. Simply, this is because animation allows for the vibrancy and strangeness of the principal characters to shine completely. It's because of this ideology that the newest addition to the string of animated films sees Batman in the midst of the swinging 1970's where he trains alongside fellow students in martial arts so as to battle otherworldly monsters.
Titled Batman: Soul of the Dragon, and seeing regular DCAU director Sam Liu take the helm once again, Batman will team up with Richard Dragon (Played by Mark Dacascos), Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger (Played by Michael Jai White), and Lady Shiva (Played by Kelly Hu). Together with their sensei (O-Sensei to be exact!), the new trailer illustrates one of pure wild adventure, set in Elseworlds (Alternate universes to the main DC continuity) and therefore not bound by past iterations. Batman: Soul of the Dragon will release digitally on January 12th on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, followed by a Blu-ray release on January 26th.
