With news that Batman: The Animated Series is getting a revival on HBO Max, now anything seems possible. And Max McMillian, a voice and casting director on the classic animated follow-up Batman Beyond, appeared as a part of IGN Fan Fest this weekend and indicates they want to also revive the sequel series which followed an elderly Bruce Wayne training a new Batman in a futuristic Gotham City. Though, when asked if a continuation of any kind was possible during a table read with members of the cast at the event, McMillian commented it would take a fan campaign for Warner Bros. to resurrect the show:
“It will depend on the fans asking, and asking, and asking for it until [show owner] Warner Bros. would be foolish not to. So they have to begin a campaign of sorts and just let Warner Bros. know that that’s what they want. Because we would like to make it, it would be great fun – we’re all still around, we’re all still available, everybody’s still doing beautiful work. So yes please, and thank you.”
While no such indication of a revival is currently in the works, like I said before, anything seems possible at this point. Stay tuned!
